In December, Forte was named "Car of the Year" by NADAguides.com.

 

In December, Soul was chosen as the "Best Design of the Year” by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

 

In November, Soul has been recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the U.S. and been given a “Top Safety Pick” award for the second consecutive time.

 

In August, Forte received the “Car of the Month” award from NADAguides.com

 

In August, Soul was named to the “Most Exciting Cars of 2010” list by TIME.com for its roomy interior, large cargo volume, standard convenience features and impressive value.

 

In August, all-new Sorento was awarded a 5-star Safety rating in the latest Euro NCAP crash test results.

 

In June, Kia Motors Corporation was awarded “Best Model of the Year” for the new Kia Forte by the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Automotive Awards.

 

In May, Soul was awarded the NHTSA 5-star Frontal Crash Safety Rating Award.

In April, Soul was named as having the “Grooviest Interior” on World’s AutoWorld “Interior of the Year” list.

 

In March, Soul has become the first Korean car ever to receive the recognition of a design award from the renowned Red Dot Awards held in Germany.

 

In February, Kia Motors (UK) Ltd. Was named Car Maker of the Year by the leading Motor Trade Magazine AM in its 2009 Awards.

 

In February, Rio was named as one of the “Greenest vehicles of 2009” by the America Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).


2008


In November, Rondo (Carens) was selected as Consumer Report’s Top 100 Products.

 

In November, Sedona (Carnival) was named “Best Buy” by Consumers Digest for two consecutive years.

 

In September, Borrego (Mohave) achieved a 5-star Crash Safety Rating for all seating positions in frontal and side impact crash tests conducted by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s national Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

 

In July, Sedona (Carnival) was named as the most affordable people-mover to own and run according to the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria’s (RACV) Annual Survey.

 

In May, Rio and Rio5 were named to GAYOT.com’s “Top 10 Best Small Cars” list.

 

In February, Rondo (Carens) was named “Best Value” vehicle by Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com in their annual list of Best Family Cars.

 

In February, Sorento claimed its third consecutive victory in the 2008 Towcar of the Year Awards organized by the Caravan Club.


2007


In February Sedona, Rio, Rio5, Spectra, Spectra5, Optima, Sportage and Sorento awarded The Car Book's 2007 "Best Bet" award.


In February 2007 Kia Sedona was honored with MotorWeek's "Best Minivan" award.


In June Rio and Rio5 are ranked highest in initial quality in the sub-compact car category by the J.D. Power and Associates for two consecutive years.


In July Sedona and Sorento are awarded "Good" ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rear impact crash tests.


In August Kia Amanti awarded "Good" rating by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)


In December Kia Spectra5 ranked #1 in US News and World Report Auto Rankings


2006


In addition to earning a five-star crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) the second generation Sedona is the first minivan to earn the "Top Safety Pick" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in frontal side and rear impact crash tests. IIHS calls Sedona "the best minivan we've ever tested."


Optima is awarded "Good" rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in frontal and rear impact crash tests.


Rio and Rio 5 are ranked highest in initial quality in the sub-contact car category (tie) by J.D. Power & Associates becoming Kia's first IQS segment winner.
