Car buyers are making a beeline to Kia dealerships all over the country in hot pursuit of the incredible bargain that offers the new Sorento 2.2L CRDi Highline Cruiser at a price that is comparable to compact SUVs available in the local market. Close to 2,000 customers have already signed in and more are rushing up to make the initial reservation fee of P300,000 in anticipation of the arrival of Kia’s fastest selling SUV in Europe and across the Americas.

To address the popular clamor for an affordable initial reservation deposit, Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), authorized distributor of Kia in the Philippines, has decided to reduce the reservation deposits to only P50,000 in the case of the Sorento and P32,500 for the Soul. The rest of the reservation deposit will be payable through 6 monthly payments and in smaller increments of P50,000 or P32,500 respectively.

Felix J. Mabilog, Jr., President and COO of CAC, is overwhelmed by the public’s response to the Kia Promo but not surprised at all since the Kia Sorento diesel variant comes at an irresistible introductory price.  “Filipinos are expert bargain hunters and respond accordingly when they see one,” Mabilog says.  “The pre-selling price of the Kia Sorento diesel at P1.295M is truly a bargain.  At this price, we open doors to car buyers who would otherwise settle down for a compact SUV due to budget limitations but are in fact eager to drive home an upscale mid-size SUV like the Kia Sorento,” he adds.

“Here is one incredible bargain for car buyers wishing to drive home a real, honest-to-goodness SUV,” says Mabilog.  “We are offering the Kia Sorento diesel that has all the attributes and amenities found in mid-size SUVs at a cost similar to that of a compact SUV. And when a buyer decides to acquire the Kia Sorento at our special pre-selling price, the deal becomes even sweeter,” he adds.

For a limited time only, CAC is pre-selling the all new Kia Sorento 2.2L 5-seater diesel variant starting at P1.295M, with a fixed, non-refundable but transferable deposit of P300,000 deductible from the total purchase cost.  The Kia Sorento gas model will also be made available at a special pre-selling price of P1.195M, also with a P300,000 fixed deposit.

Those who opt to make the reservation deposit for the Kia Sorento in installment will have to make an initial deposit of P50,000 and equal monthly payments of P50,000 thru PDC’s within a 6-month period.

The Kia Soul 1.6L meanwhile is being offered at a special pre-selling price of P875,000.  This special pre-selling price for the Kia Soul 1.6L requires a fixed deposit of P200,000.  Delivery is also within a period of 180 days from the time the reservation fee is paid.

Like the Sorento, those who choose to make the reservation deposit for the Kia Soul via installment, need to make an initial deposit of P32,500 and then issue 6 PDC checks in monthly increments of the same amount.

Mabilog emphasizes that the non-refundability of the required fixed deposit applies only within a period of 180 days.  “If for any reason CAC fails to deliver the Sorento within the 180-day period (due to production/ shipping problems, late deliveries or other circumstances beyond its control), and the buyer chooses not to purchase the vehicle anymore, the buyer will get his money back in full”, Mabilog says.  “But should he opt to acquire the vehicle, the fixed deposit is deducted from the Sorento’s listed pre-selling price, a price that is already discounted at P300,000,” he adds.

“What better bargain could there be than this?,” Mabilog asks. No bank or car company can guarantee a 100% return on a P300,000 holdover investment for a period of 180 days.  Only Kia does, he enthuses.

Mabilog also stresses that the 180-day waiting period for the Kia Sorento diesel is already a stretched out scenario.  “We foresee delivery within a 120-day period or even less,” Mabilog says optimistically.

The new Kia Sorento 2.2L diesel variant, along with the Kia Soul 1.6L Urban Crossover, will break out in the market at very attractive launch and pre-selling prices as part of Kia’s strategic marketing effort to introduce less expensive variants and make them more affordable to more people while adhering to strict quality production standards.

The all-new Kia Sorento 2.2L diesel variant is expected to make waves in the local market eager for a new and stylish SUV that delivers the power and energy to meet urban lifestyle demands while keeping fuel consumption at low levels.  The Kia Soul 1.6L model meanwhile will make this new Urban Crossover more affordable to the younger set of the market.

The Sorento Highline Cruiser that will debut in the country in 5-seater variant sports the famous R2.2 liter CRDi VGT with a maximum output of 190/3,000 (ps/rpm) and a maximum torque of 44.5/1,800-2,500 (kg-m/rpm).  The R2.2 liter unit outperforms most I4 and V6 units from rival brands while complying with Euro2 emissions standards.  The enhanced power translates into better acceleration capable of handling the Sorento’s larger demands with greatly reduced emissions.

The Kia Soul meanwhile packs a fuel-efficient 1.6 liter gasoline engine and will be available as a five-door hatchback with front wheel drive, has an overall length of 4,105 mm, and a 2,550 mm wheelbase. Height is at 1,661 mm and width at 1,785 mm – excluding door mirrors.
